Win a FREE Pass to Content Success Summit 2013

I’m honored to be a part of this year’s Content Success Summit.

This event, organized by the folks at Social Media Examiner, is a special online (no travel!) conference designed to help you master content marketing.

WHERE: At your home or office! You attend this live event using your computer (no long-distance bill or travel expenses!).

WHEN: Starting February 5, 2013 (spread over four weeks). Plus you’ll get recordings and transcripts of all live sessions.

PRICE: $597 … but, as you can tell from the title of this blog post, the price – if you win – is FREE!

My 45-minute session, scheduled for Thursday, February 21st, is titled The Secret to Email Marketing: How to Grow Your List

But my session is really just the tip of the iceberg.

I’ll be joined (virtually) by Joe Pulizzi (co-author, Get Content Get Customers), Ann Handley (co-author, Content Rules), Michael Hyatt (author, Platform), Michael Stelzner (author, Launch), Amy Porterfield (co-author, Facebook Marketing All-in-One for Dummies), Mark Schaefer (author, Return on Influence), Gini Dietrich (co-author, Marketing in the Round), David Siteman Garland (author, Smarter, Faster, Cheaper), Lewis Howes (co-author, LinkedWorking), Derek Halpern (Social Triggers), Pat Flynn (Smart Passive Income) and Marcus Sheridan (The Sales Lion).

Wow, right? I personally know most of the other presenters and can tell you this – they are all at the top of their respective games when it comes to content marketing.

The folks at Social Media Examiner have been kind enough to give me one Content Success Summit 2013 ticket to give away to … YOU!

To be eligible to win, all you need to do is leave a comment below telling me how the Content Success Summit will benefit you. That’s it!

The “Fine Print”

1. You can only enter once (one comment!).
2. The deadline is Sunday, January 13th at midnight PT. I’ll pick a winner shortly after and announce it on this blog.
3. I will be the one picking the winner and will do my best (fingers crossed) to be unbiased!
4. No purchase is necessary to win.

I’m looking forward to reading your comments. Best of luck!

P.S. Have you heard the news? Nick Westergaard and I have started a weekly podcast called The Work Talk Show, where we interview crazy-smart folks about how work gets done. Give the latest episode a listen!

In case you missed the news, my buddy Jason Falls and I  recently wrote a book called The Rebel’s Guide to Email Marketing: Grow Your List, Break the Rules, and Win?

Yup. It’s true.

In the book, we talk about growing your email list as well as breaking “the rules” of email marketing. Break the rules and grab your copy today, right now. Here –> AVAILABLE NOW!

Reminder: There is no such thing as “best practices” when it comes to email marketing. Best practices are those that are best for your audience.

What can I say?I want to be awesome and that will only happen by learning from the best! The value of winning a ticket to Content Success Summit would be immeasurable. Not only will all of the amazing speakers (especially you DJ) help me achieve my business goals, I’ll be sharing my knowledge from it with my network so we can all be awesome together!

Loud let the bells them ring... to the winner!

Ok, here goes.

First, my job has recently transition to a broader scope beyond social and is morphing much more into overall content marketing.  I would like to take more of a leadership role in this transition so, knowledge (expert knowledge) is key to this goal.

Second, I am in my final semester of my grad program where content marketing has become more and more of an in depth focus.  Many of our actual textbooks are the same kind of industry authors that are represented at this Summit. This would be an invaluable addition to what I can share with my classmates.

Lastly, I would like to talk about my ongoing admiration for the University of Michigan...especially, it's time-tested and continued greatness on the football field.  It continues to represent itself as the ideal of the college football realm and it is my sincere belief that the 2012 team was blatantly robbed of a bowl win in Tampa.

In closing...GO BLUE!

As someone who tries to stay on top of all the new information out there as they pertain to tools, trends and do & don'ts, having access to the content from all these greats contributors would be very valuable. As am avid live-tweeter I would be happy to curate some of the content so that everybody wins in the end :) Good luck to all!

I am requesting this free pass not so much for me, but for a marketing department that is hungry, and poised, to take a company beyond the comfortable corporate verbiage and into the realm of true content marketing and storytelling.

I work in a marketing department that is facing serious boredom. Okay, we're not sitting around waiting for something to do, believe me, we're working our asses off. But we've been doing the same put-your-head-down-and-get-the-project-done, insert marketing gobbldy-gook-here kind of marketing for years and we’re sick of it.

But an event like the Content Success Summit would be a great team building exercise that would light a fire under our collective asses to strive for greatness.

I want this free pass for my marketing department: A collection of talented and creative people who have gathered pitchforks and are ready to storm the ramparts of content marketing mediocrity. This seminar could be the spark that lights our torches to go along with our pitchforks and light our way to the castle.

Thanks for the opportunity, D.J. I think you’re the bee knees no matter what Nick Westergaard says about you behind your back.

I'm hiring a new Communications Specialist and if I win I'll be giving her the free pass to attend Content Success Summit. I've read your book and heard you speak and along with the wisdom of Ann Handley, Joe Pulizzi, Michael Stelzner, Mark Schaefer, Gini Dietrich, Derek Halpern and all the rest, I'm sure this virtual conference will be incredibly helpful to her in starting her new job. I'll be passing along the good karma and she'll be getting her first "bonus" at the new job!

The big win would be to actually break the code and gain some true momentum for my own following. I want to continually grow my practice and help even more small business owners. There are so many areas of content being covered so the summit has more than enough to give me fresh ideas and tools to help clients too.  I think this summit is a wise training investment for any business owner whether you win this drawing or not. If it's anything like past summits I've attended it's worth so much more than the dollar amount you spend.

@rosiemedia Agree, Rosie - this should be a good one. Thanks for your comment. Stay tuned...

I could benefit the most from Derek Halpern's, Ann Handley's, Michael Hyatt's, Pam Hendrickson's, yours, and Gini Dietrich's sessions because they are the most targeted at the my interests and tangential to what I sell my clients – analytics.

I hope the Content Success Summit would help me by helping me develop more new ideas and learn about what some others are doing to get outside the box in terms of content and thinking.

Aha, I can post now! With a limited base of who we can mail to (membership base mostly) and declining click/open rates, this would be a great way for me to learn from some of the best and brightest and get some ideas to re-engage our subscriber base.

@LaraBaker Thanks for your entry, Lara. Sorry about the troubles commenting before! Bonus points for letting me know about it ... so I could get it fixed quick (or right quick as my friends in NC say).

Okay DJ, here's my spiel: I've been following most of these speakers, yourself included, for about 2 years now (yes, I'm brown-nosing!). I've just begun (as in 2 weeks ago) to develop a platform to put all my ideas about web design & online marketing in a format that will resonate with my target audience. I've already started pooling together the ideas I've learned from you, Ann, Michael and some others...but I need more. This project has to get bigger than me, and it's good enough to do so. Being able to attend this conference would be give my new project an injection of caffeine that will help it get to where it needs to be. Not only that, when I talk about content marketing with my own clients, my recommendations will come backed with experience from a conference like this, which is huge for a small company like mine. Thanks in advance :)
